Jacko was a tireless campaigner for Land Rights and community control over sacred and significant sites. Called Building Bridges: White Australia has a Black History, it was launched in Sydney and Melbourne in January 1989. The goal was to strengthen the bonds between Aboriginal people and their supporters who all opposed the racism of the official Bicentennial. This photo shows the large street mural advertising the first Rock Against Racism concert at RMIT. Pavilion staff like Tony Duke supported the large Maori community who lived in Bondi.
